We know bringing home a puppy is a huge decision, and every family approaches that decision a little differently. Some families fall in love with a specific look, while others are focused on finding the perfect temperament fit for their lifestyle.

Because both are important, we offer several ways to help guide you through the puppy selection process and make the best choice for your family.

For puppies under eight weeks of age, selection is often based more on appearance and individual preferences. While we can observe early personality traits, a young puppy’s temperament is still developing and is heavily influenced by their current environment and experiences.

Once puppies reach eight weeks of age, we begin to see more consistent personality traits emerge. As they continue to mature between 4 and 8 months of age, we gain a much clearer understanding of each puppy’s temperament, strengths, and the type of home where they will truly thrive long-term.

Our goal is not just to help you choose a puppy you’ll love today, but to help you find the right companion for years to come.

One of the most common questions we receive is whether families can come meet multiple puppies before making a decision. While we understand the excitement, that’s not typically how our selection process works.

The first step is always your application, followed by a phone conversation. During that call, we’ll discuss your lifestyle, what you’re looking for in a puppy, your expectations, and whether our program is the right fit for your family. This relationship has to work both ways.

Our goal has never been to simply sell puppies. We genuinely care about where our puppies go and the families they become part of. We want to enjoy working with you, celebrate milestones with you, and watch your puppy grow through the updates and photos you’ll share for years to come. A successful placement starts with finding the right match, not just making a quick decision.

After learning about your family, we’ll help narrow down the puppy we believe is the best overall fit for your home. After all, nobody knows our puppies better than we do.

For local families who would like to meet their recommended puppy before making an official commitment, we offer private appointments for a $150 visit fee. During this visit, you’ll spend time with that specific puppy and we’ll answer any questions you have while reviewing the process in more detail. Because no reservation has been made at this point, the appointment fee helps compensate for the time and scheduling involved.

Once you’re ready to move forward, you’ll complete your reservation or final payment. At that point, your puppy will return to our veterinarian for a final wellness examination and USDA Health Certificate.

Whether you’re visiting in person or planning for delivery, puppies cannot leave our care until their USDA Health Certificate has been completed. This final veterinary visit includes another health evaluation and fecal screening, ensuring your puppy is healthy, thriving, and officially cleared for travel and placement.

We are incredibly particular about making sure every puppy leaves us in the best possible condition. Those extra few days also give families a little more time to prepare their homes and gather supplies before their puppy arrives.

For families who aren’t local, the process is just as simple. We’ll have our phone consultation, discuss which puppy is the best fit, and provide videos, photos, and detailed information so you can feel confident in your decision. Once your payment is submitted, we’ll coordinate pickup, arrange a meeting location, or schedule personalized delivery.

No matter where you’re located, we strive to make the process transparent, straightforward, and focused on what matters most: matching the right puppy with the right family.
