A New Adventure at Wonderland
We’re excited to welcome Australian Mountain Doodles to Wonderland’s Boujie Kennels!
Our Australian Mountain Doodle program combines Bernedoodle, Australian Shepherd and Poodle lines, bringing together genetics we love for temperament, intelligence, trainability, structure and beautiful variety.
Our expected Australian Mountain Doodles will generally mature between 25–35 pounds, depending on the individual pairing and genetics behind each puppy.
Like everything we do at Wonderland, this program is starting small, will remain small and developing intentionally.
Starting With One Special Boy
Our brand-new male is currently the only Australian Mountain Doodle in our program, and that’s intentional.
Rather than immediately purchasing multiple unrelated AMDs, we’re starting with one carefully selected male and allowing the program to develop around the dogs and genetics we already know.
Going forward, he will be paired with select Wonderland Bernedoodles, allowing us to begin creating our own generations of Australian Mountain Doodles while continuing to build upon our established Bernedoodle lineage.
This also gives us an opportunity to introduce new, outsourced genetics into our program while selecting for the things that matter to us most: health, structure, temperament, color and genetic diversity.
One trait we’re especially excited to introduce into select future lines is the genetics associated with blue eyes (alx4 gene). While eye color can never be promised simply because a parent carries or expresses a particular trait, it gives us another characteristic we can thoughtfully work with as future generations develop.
Our goal isn’t to chase a single color or feature.
It’s to bring in quality outside genetics that complement what we’ve already built at Wonderland.
What Is an Australian Mountain Doodle?
Australian Mountain Doodles, commonly called AMDs, combine Australian Shepherd, Bernese Mountain Dog and Poodle ancestry.
At Wonderland, we’re developing ours through Bernedoodle × Australian Mountain Doodle lines, with Poodle and Australian Shepherd genetics represented within the ancestry of our program.
Because these are multibreed, multigenerational dogs, percentages can vary significantly from one pairing to another.
That’s why we don’t believe a percentage tells the entire story.
We’re interested in the dogs behind those percentages — their health, structure, temperament, coat, size, genetics and the characteristics being carried forward through each generation.
As our own generations develop, we’ll continue selecting the dogs that best represent what we want a Wonderland Australian Mountain Doodle to become.
Our Expected Size
Our Australian Mountain Doodles are being developed as small-medium to medium-sized companions, with an anticipated mature weight of approximately:
25–35 Pounds
Individual puppies may mature outside an estimated range, and every litter will have its own projected size based on the parents involved.
We love this size range because it gives families a substantial, athletic dog without necessarily having the size of a Standard Bernedoodle.
Building the Wonderland Line
This is a developing program, and we’re excited for our families to watch it grow from the beginning.
Our first male represents the starting point — not the finished product.
Future generations will be selected using what we learn from the puppies produced before them. We’ll continue evaluating temperament, trainability, structure, health, adult size, coat and overall consistency while bringing in outside genetics when they genuinely improve the program.
We will be looking for:
• Family-oriented, people-focused temperaments
• Confidence and good environmental recovery
• Trainability and handler engagement
• Quality structure and movement
• Health-tested backgrounds
• Genetic diversity
• Desirable, manageable coats
• Approximately 25–35 pound mature sizes
• Beautiful colors, patterns and eye-color possibilities
Health, temperament and structure come first. Color is the fun part we get to build around them.

This program is just getting started.
Right now, we have one Australian Mountain Doodle male who will help us introduce new genetics into select Wonderland Bernedoodle lines and begin developing the generations that follow, starting 2027..
As he matures and completes his health testing, we’ll continue updating this page with his information, genetics, health results and our future pairing plans.
Eventually, you’ll also be able to meet the daughters and sons we choose to retain and watch our Wonderland AMD lineage develop generation by generation.
